My Encounter with Christ
Like many, I was raised with Christian values, where Sundays were for church, and the teachings of right and wrong were part of everyday life. However, growing up, I often noticed a disparity between the faith professed in church and the actions witnessed outside of it. This observation led me to question the authenticity of such faith.
As a teenager, I drifted into worldly pursuits, losing sight of God amidst the temptations of substance use and the pursuit of societal approval. But God’s grace has a way of reaching us through unexpected channels. My turning point came through my brother, a frequent companion in misguided adventures, who had a life-altering encounter with Jesus. His transformation was undeniable – from indulgence in vices to a life marked by worship and service.
Intrigued by his change, I embarked on my own journey of discovery. Research, prayer, and exploration of the Scriptures opened my eyes to the profound reliability and truth of the Bible, eventually leading me to surrender my life to Christ.
I vividly recall a night that forever changed me. At a small gathering, a prayer for Jesus’ presence enveloped me in an indescribable peace, a tangible sense of His love and power. This experience was not just emotional but spiritual – a direct encounter with the living Christ.
